I would recommend the Nikon 18-200mm VR. It has a great range and can do the work of two or three lenes. Its a little pricey but you may be able to find a good used deal somewhere.

hi,
wondering if anyone other than me has specific reasons for folding. have not seen a thread or discussion, so thought i would ask. my reason is my sister that i lost to cancer, hence my id; 4 Joan N. A. i couldn't stand to do nothing, and this seemed like a wonderful way to do something and put lots of old hardware back to work at the same time.
hope i didn't ask a wrong question. just curious.

Gentle nudge + some more info.
After playing around a bit, I discovered the files are named, "MuteOnButton" and "MuteOffButton".
Still in the same folder:
"/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app"
If anyone's able to snag these files for me from their iPad, it'd be greatly appreciated. :)

I have a pair of these now too, and highly recommend them. I had a pair of Shure e3c's that bit the dust, and used the $79 apple in-ears for a while after that, but these are by far the best.

WHen posting pics of your system online people need to start adding watermarks so idiots like these won't reuse them for posting Ads on CL or Ebay or where ever.
They post on CL here in Sacramento as well. Usually we use the Flagging system to get them deleted as quick as possible.. I just wish there was someway they could be filtered or refused from posting.

I don't think there any any improvements. I can make the issue happen at will. It never drops to 'no service' but always drops bars. Not really an issue to me, but I wouldn't be hopeful in getting a 'fixed' iP4.

I spent a lot of time mulling over whether to buy a Mini or a second hand Powermac G4 - and in the end it was the upgradability of the Powermac that won me over. I really wanted to be able to switch to a machine that would be able to meet my undemanding gaming requirements and the Mini's 32mb graphics wasn't able to offer that.
Also there is the fun of taking a stock machine and upgrading it to the hilt - maybe that's not for everyone but I've been having a ball ! :D
I also had a wireless networking card that I knew would work with Mac OS X so the Powermac was just as an easy a fit into our home network as the Mini would have been. The only advantage to the Mini is that it would come with iLife.

Didn't work for me. I also see this on two different 10.7 installs. Using the keyboard shortcuts or the menu bar to arrange by still works just no right click.

Would moving the Finder preference file to your Desktop and starting help? If it's a Finder issue perhaps forcing Finder defaults may help?
Quick question, how did you install Lion? I'm asking as some people installed it over Snow Leopard and are running into issues. You can install it fresh by burning the dmg in Lion(DP1 or 2, doesn't matter but DP2 will be best)/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg to DVD or USB:

Go back to the store with an AT&T Wireless phone and press *ID (*43) and hold the phone up to the headphones for 15 sec and it will text message you the name/artist of the song.

Have you deleted the preference file though? I'd do that first because it's a pretty harmless troubleshooting technique that is generally quite effective. :)

And have they done this for HP yet? Got a 5850 wi-fi printer that according to HP's site is no longer supported for drivers.
Shame :( - it is a great printer under OS 10.5, but I need to get a new MacBook soon, and I want double sided printing!

Hey everyone I'm not sure if this is the right section for this, so if it isn't please point me in the right direction.
Anyhow I recently "found" a Macintosh TV, did a fresh install of System 7.1, hooked up my Genesis and... it seems like I'm missing half the frames per second. Both RF and video in have the same problem.
I've changed the very limited options in both TV Setup and Monitors and I still have the same problem. Will installing 7.6 change anything or am I stuck missing half the frames?
EDIT: Ok it's not half the frames missing but it's still noticeable. Also is there a way to adjust the picture quality, the video in is extremely blurry with multicolored artifacts everywhere.

� I will be booting into it this weekend to import records from a 17-file FileMaker 6 solution into intermediate files (which have both the old and the new table structure) and then into the final structure. The speed boost over OS X is somewhere between threefold and fourfold for the involved functions.
� I boot into 9 to scan. I have two scanners, both decently good, neither with OS X drivers available. The Umax Astra slide scanner was noted as having very good color values for the price, and the price was low due in part to lack of OS X drivers. The old flatbed, a Umax 630, is a 3-pass SCSI scanner that will probably still be humming along nicely when MacOS 10.9 is becoming obsolete.
� I have my older computer off to my left here as I type on this one. I Timbuktu into the older one to handle a chore that it does better (under MacOS 8.6, mind you, not even 9) than OS X does on the fastest machines in the shop: opening up folders on a mounted server folder that are chock-full of huge TIFF and Photoshop images, and copying selected files to a folder from a different mounted server volume also chock-full of huge TIFF and Photoshop images. OS X thinks its doing me a favor by trying to conjure up and display a thumbnail of each image based on actual file content. It certainly had its shortcomings (especially with regards to memory, oy vey) but it also had a great deal of sophistication �€�? lots of little things that had started off great or evolved to greatness. It was the best all-around small computer operating system of the 20th Century. I'd still use it over XP, or the first few iterations of OS X.

Ok, I know it's just a wee niggle and I knew that there would be some bashing but it's fairly annoying to see 10-15 posts that are clearly attention-seeking. I'm just saying it's a bit immature to write a post with a title that has so many question marks. Also, the type of thread that has a title like that is likely to be short, pointless and uninformative. I know I'm stereotyping here, but what I'm trying to say is: the thread title normally is just a drop of water that, when you open the thread, turns into a flood.

I think it only charges when the iBook is running from the mains power, not the battery, but I could be wrong. :o
