Looks like the old ones to me...

    Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Why???:(

Hopefully, Apple are only doing this while they use up the leftover old-style earphones, and will soon change to the new and improved ones.

Not necessarily, it could be a loss leader. Apple's margin on products is generally 35%, however.

Exactly. Or, the 3rd party that TJ Maxx got them from could have sold them to TJM for a slight loss or break even, just to move them. No one knows what TJ Maxx has paid for these, so no one can say they are making a profit. Even if they did sell them for a loss, it's probably more than made up for it in the amount of viral advertising they've gotten so far.

I'll pick up the white if someone is willing to trade straigh across. My black, for their white. Just to switch it up since I've had this black since the first launch. I didn't want white in the first place but eh why not.

This is what the big dogs use. And there is good reason for it. If you cut with more than one person on a project you can't beat a unity or an ISIS.

Final cut is fine. But it's no AVID. So when people say Final Cut is the industry standard on here they aren't talking about the Film & Television industry.

Final cut made a big jump for a couple years because of producers trying to cut cost in post but you get what you pay for.

I wish Apple would come out with their own suite of apps. There hasn't been any competition with Adobe since CorelDraw.

You know what people should be concerning themselves with today instead of this non-issue? The credit card and personal information of 77 MILLION users that was stolen from the Sony network this week. Now THAT is an issue.

PS. Do you think Sony will get sued?

Worth quoting, given the back-and-forth that's gone on since this was originally posted.

In what way does that pertain to the question at hand?

    Cocoa Gestures

Single biggest timesaver/hand movement reducer I have ever installed on a computer, period (and I've been using 'em since the before there was a Mac).

Just curious, what kind of computer were you using before 1984?

First post at 4:13, banned by 4:16. This has to be a record, right?

close to one I imagine. There have been a few like that in the past who have picked the wrong time to post. One of the reasons we've added a lot of global time zone coverage with the new mods. It gives us a better chance that someone will be on line when someone tries to pull something.

    Folks,

Even though I believe .mac to be overpriced for the value, after buying a couple of iMacs for my extended family, I decided that it made sense to by a Family Pack license of .mac because the members of my extended family aren't that computer savvy, so making photocasting and sharing files as easy as possible was a priority.

All the retailers I called had no stock on .mac retail boxes and told me they were on backorder. After placing an order a few days ago via the Apple Store online, the original ship date was estimated 1-3 weeks, but my order now shows an estimated ship date of October 24th.

I can only hope that this means that the .mac service and retail boxes are going to get released in late October with new functionality. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I can't figure why something as simple as a .mac retail box with an activation code is backordered more than a month since placing my order unless something was afoot.

I'll secretly wish for Merom MBPs at the same time of course. :D

    Gavin.

This is what many of us have been suggesting for a while now. Smartphone market share is not the be-all/end-all. iOS usage as a whole is a far more important indicator of what's going on because you don't have traditional carrier lock-ins with the non-phone devices.

"Just wait for the Verizon iPhone 4 numbers!"
"Just wait for the White iPhone 4 numbers!"
"Just wait for the iPhone 4S numbers!"
"Just wait for the iPhone 5 numbers!"

I'm starting to see a pattern.

Name 1 Android device with sales figures like the iPhone 4.

    Apple...

You are/were 1 to 2 years late with putting out this Verizon iPhone.

    Android has gained adoption...

Don't worry, you will be fine in the long run - a Verizon LTE iPhone 6 will get your sales kicked in within the Verizon market. I know I will be going back to an iPhone when it happens.

Keep in mind Apple approached VZW first, and when they were turned down, Apple then went to Cingular(Now AT&T).

Sounds like everything Apple just went through with Antenna-Gate and the White iPhone 4. It happens to everyone.

I don't think this is the case. RIMM is not doing well.

Unusual Price Movement Detected - (TSE: RIM.TO) (http://www.tickrwatch.com/2011/04/unusual-price-movement-detected-tse_29.html)
Posted by Eric Savoie at 3:30 PM

Shares of Research In Motion Limited (TSE: RIM) fell by 15.1% or $-8.13/share to $45.7. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $44.94 and as high as $73.98. On average, 1956300 shares of RIM.TO exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 8273998. The shares are currently trading below the 50-day and 200-day moving averages which indicates that the shares have been experiencing downward momemtum. The stock may bounce back to test the 200-day moving average. Thus, you may want to pay close attention for a move up to the $55.63 area but be careful because the stock may face selling pressure at this level.

Until the FT reverses route, the ONLY rational response is to either not buy the FT at all (there are competitors out there) or buy it at a news stand.
Where has been the outcry during the last 50 years during newspapers have used this for their subscribers?
So, the moment somebody offers a newspaper subscription that asks the user via a non-modal interface whether to share its data, you decide which newspaper you prefer on this basis. And if somebody had offered a newspaper which by default does not use your data (ie, requires you to check a box instead of unchecking) in the past you would have immediately switched to that newspaper?
Except that you naturally didn't do any of that (despite also naturally there being newspapers which by default do not use your data, eg, currently the The Economist).
All this grandstanding, just at the opportunity to use some strong words.
